A local veterans group will be having the 1st Annual Veterans Stand Down in Aberdeen. The event is being held in conjunction with the Aberdeen Job Fair at the Civic Arena. It will be held on Tuesday September 21st from noon to 5pm. Patrick Moore an E Range Coordinator with the Aberdeen VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic is coordinating a group of local volunteers to staff the event. North Eastern Work and Technical Education Center (NEW TEC) is assisting as the grant writer to apply for a U.S. Department of Labor/VETS Stand Down grant for the event. Information for the event can also be found at www.allaberdeen.net. Stand Downs began to assist homeless veterans. The Aberdeen Stand Down is for ALL area veterans. A Stand Down assists veterans who are struggling and their ability to lead productive lives regain their independence and lives through transitional living,
